At The heart of Cuerpos que gritan is the collective exploration of its participants questions, intuitions, and discomforts. At Cuerpos que gritan, collaboration is at the core of our work and Through our collective meetings, the artists have not only reshaped and redefined the laboratory's purpose but also developed an individual critical point of view about the context and state of the performing arts  in our city and in our country. 

 

Cuerpos que gritan artists try to challenge the norms of Colombia's performance creation, looking to dismantle the traditional hierarchy of roles and the notion of coherence between performance and context. We view the separation of training and creation as arbitrary and reject the idea that a creative process culminates only in front of an audience.

 

​Free from academic constraints, we try to find new ways of creating performances that reflect on our  reality and aspirations, offering participative and critical experiences for artists and audiences. 

 

Our aim is to craft more empathetic performances,  that spark a sense of liberation and inspiration in our audience and that invites them to be a part of a transformative journey.

 

​Cuerpos que gritan has found the laboratories' methodological structure ideal and crucial at shaping our artists' gatherings. We start by exploring questions about their shared context and developing hypotheses around these questions,  to then experiment with prototypes that addresses and delves into them.
